Abstract

This research attempted to evaluate the bachelor’s degree curriculum in the Educational Measurement of Ramkhamhaeng University through the CIPP Model evaluation technique. The results were concluded as follows : 1. The curriculum general objectives were clearly established and practical. 2. The content of all courses in the curriculum was concordant with the curriculum objectives. 3. The credit number of each subject area was properly estimated. 4. The curriculum objectives should emphasize on the measurement and evaluation in three educational levels:- secondary, elementary, and kindergarten, in order to enhance the graduates’ opportunities and ability in doing the work than emphasized only on secondary level as in the present curriculum. 5. Courses concerning school measurement and evaluation regulations, cumulative record keeping, measurement and evaluation of career and vocational courses should have been added in the concentration group of courses. 6. The teachers’ efficiency was in good acceptance. 7. The ability, the conformity to the professional ethics, the personality, and the human relationship of both graduates and the student practicians in educational measurement and evaluation were in excellent acceptance.

Abstract

The study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching efficiency of Ramkhamhaeng University instructors in five areas : 1) preparing course outline and evaluation. 2) technique of teaching. 3) responsibility in teaching. 4) relationship between instructors and students and 5) content. Fifty-three courses were first randomly selected from courses offered in second semester of academie year 1982, and 3,171 students were randomly selected from those attened those 53 courses. The instrument used in this study was a questionaire concerning the effectiveness of instruction. There were 32 questionaire items. The reliability of this questionaire was 0.89. It was found that the teaching efficiency in all five areas of Ramkhamhaeng University instructors were at the good level. The analysis showed that there was significant difference in teaching efficiency among instructors in seven faculties but there was no significant difference in teaching efficiency between instructors who taught courses for freshmen and those who taught courses for sophomore or higher levels. Further analyses done to compare student rating of instructor effectiveness in teaching showed that first year students rated instructor effectiveness higher than those who enrolled more than four years. It was also found that students who expected to get G grade in the final examination rated instructor effectiveness in teaching higher than students who expected to get P grade of F grade.
